Tarpon Caye Lodge
Experience a private island getaway off the coast of belize with Intimate accommodations for up to 10 guests.
Tarpon Caye Lodge sits on a private island 15 miles off the coast of Placencia in southern Belize. Surrounded by miles of flats and inshore habitat, the lodge is quite literally in the middle of the fishery. Permit, tarpon, and bonefish can all be found within sight of the island, and it isn't uncommon for guests to start or finish the day with a fly rod in hand.
The lodge accommodates just 10 guests in individual private cabins. It is intimate, comfortable, and built around fishing. Days have structure, but life on the island is never rigid. Fish hard with your guide, walk the Home Flat on your own, grab a cold drink with the other anglers, or retreat to your cabin when you've had enough. Your time at Tarpon Caye is largely your own.
There are more polished resorts in Belize. That's not what Tarpon Caye is trying to be. We are a remote Belize fly fishing lodge for anglers and their families who want to live in the middle of a world-class saltwater fishery, eat well, fish as much as they want, and enjoy the company of people who came for many of the same reasons.
Life at Tarpon Caye moves at its own pace. Wake up in a private cabin sitting literally over the Caribbean, step outside, and watch the day begin. Breakfast is served family style at the lodge, giving everyone a chance to grab a cup of coffee, eat well, and ease into the morning before heading in different directions.
Most guests spend their days fly fishing, but you don't have to. Grab a kayak or paddle board and explore around the island, go snorkeling, book a massage, or find a comfortable place with a cold drink and do absolutely nothing.
Everyone comes back together for a family-style dinner. Grab a drink, find a seat, and hear how everyone spent their day. Dinner is a social affair at Tarpon Caye, with good local food, cold drinks, and plenty of conversation. After dinner, stay with the group, head back to your cabin, or see if there is enough light left to grab a rod and walk the flats.
The lodge has structure where it needs it, but very little about life on the island feels rigid. Be social or enjoy the privacy of your own cabin. Fish hard or don't fish at all. Stay busy or slow down. Tarpon Caye is a small private island. Once you're here, it's pretty easy to make it your own.

Inside, the cabins are clean, comfortable, and built for anglers spending a week on a remote island.
