That's about the way it happened. The staff have served up two great years of fishing, food, sleeping with the sound of the caribbean splashing under the cabin; superb food, with plenty of good humor & stories that make it so I can't wait to go back. bird watching, & photo opportunities are terrific. it's all right there, I'm living in the middle of it all!!!!

If you want to get away from the tourist traps, relax, eat great food, and experience nature, this is the place for you.
Tarpon Caye is beautiful and it feels like home. The staff was very helpful and attentive without hovering and the food was delicious.
The cook, Margie, will treat you to delicious breakfasts and dinners. The food is great!
Snorkeling, kayaking, and bird watching are other activities you can enjoy. I won't forget being able to see the coral heads from the kayak on a calm day.
A word of advise: because it is a caye, the water and electricity are dependent on a generator, so a little planning for morning and evening showers is needed since the generator is not run all day. To me, that is part of the charm and I like the sustainable practices of energy conservation and water harvesting.
