Grand Slam Hall of Fame

With our Belize Fishing Lodge sitting literally on the edge of the Victoria Channel, which is considered the Permit Alley of the world, your chances of becoming one of the few fly fishermen to be marveled for the Grand Slam feat, is very high.

If you are new to saltwater fly fishing, a Grand Slam is when an angler is able to catch a permit, tarpon and bonefish during one day of fishing.

The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) defines an Inshore Grand Slam as catching any three of the following species on the same day: bonefish, tarpon, permit, and snook.

  • Belize boast the largest barrier reef in this hemisphere making the coastline of Belize one of the most spectacular places to accomplish a Grand Slam.
  • Also exists a Gran Grand Slam, that consists in catching the four species previously mentioned.

Tarpon Caye Belize Fishing Lodge also acknowledges what we call a "Trip Slam" where you catch a permit, tarpon and bonefish during the duration of your trip and a "Gran Trip Slam" where you catch a permit, tarpon, bonefish and a snook during the duration of your trip.
