Do It Yourself Fishing

Location, location, location! Tarpon Caye Lodge offers excellent Do It Yourself (DYI) Belize fishing opportunities.
We are situated in the heart of “Permit Alley” and our lagoon is one of the best tarpon fisheries in all of Belize.

Flexibility! Take advantage of our new fleet of well equipped “Old Town” 13’ Predator fishing kayaks or spend a few days with one of our experienced and friendly guides learning the area before going off on your own. Our 26 foot Tender can drop you and your kayak at one of our local flats and pick you up later in the day at a time you chose.

There are also plenty spin fishing opportunities for snapper, wahoo, cuda, jacks and many more species that will keep you occupied and having a fun time all day long

but I honestly can't think of what more you would want in a Belize fishing vacation.

. The cabanas are clean and nicely furnished. Beds are extremely comfortable. Everything you need and nothing that you dont. The food ...oh my goodness ...the food.... from the fresh banana bread at 5am to the snacks when you get done fishing (the conch fritters were amazing and then another night we had the best wings I have EVER had) to the incredible dinners and homemade desserts, the food was just phenomenal. And then, of course, there was the fishing. The weather was not cooperating during our visit, but we still spent every possible second on the water trying, and were eventually pretty successful. Marlon put a ton of effort into helping us find fish even though the conditions were rough. You could tell that he really, really, wanted us to be successful, which I appreciated. This is a great spot with tons of fish right around the fish camp. We even saw permit and tarpon from the front porch of our cabin. Everyone was super friendly and we learned more about saltwater fly fishing from guide Marlon and owner Charlie in 3 days than we would have in years on our own. We will definitely be going back to Tarpon Caye!
